Be Part of Community

  • How can I meet people?

During the school year, try out our Wednesday evening study/fellowship, Growing in Grace (GIG). Visit a worship service any Sunday at 8 am or 10 am. You can also get involved in our music ministries for fun and fellowship on Wednesday evenings, or volunteer with The Gathering Respite Ministry on Wednesdays at 10am.

  • What community events can I come to?

We host several events throughout the year; all are open to community.   Check out the concert series, the holiday family festivals (Eggstravaganza & Cookies & Crafts).   You can find these listed on the Events page when the time draws near.

  • How can I learn about God (or expand my faith journey)?

Everyone is at a different point in their personal faith journey.  First Church offers Bible study during the week, service opportunities based in faith, and worship services on Sunday. Talk to a pastor anytime for specific guidance.

Serve Others

  • How can I serve?

"The sky is the limit!"  Look for opportunities to serve during a worship service, during a community meal, or during a ministry event.   Offer your time for a ministry partner.  Agree to teach a class, make a meal, garden, or help maintain facilities.  Each has different gifts; contact a group leader or a pastor to find your place.

  • Serving God through Worship

While a worship service at First Church is engaging, it doesn't "just happen" without many worship servants, both seen and unseen.

Do you like to sing?  Try out the chancel choir.

Do you like technology? Join the tech team for AV support and streaming services.

Do you have a gift for hospitality? Work as an usher, or a check-in assistant, or as a greeter.

Do you enjoy creating a service? Join the worship team.

For any of these opportunities, just reach out to the pastor for more information.

  • Serving God through mission & ministry

First Church is connected to its community and to the world through partnership ministries and The United Methodist connectional system. Watch for opportunities to serve by assembling food kits, health kits, and cleaning kits to people affected by natural disaster. Join a meal prep team to keep visiting mission teams well-fed as they work against poverty in our local community.  Volunteer with one of our ministry partners such as AMOS, Samaritan House, Helping Hands, Access Life, Renovatus.
