Caregiver Support Group

Licensed professional counselor Shannon McBride (LPC-MHSP) leads The Gathering's Caregiver Support Group on the first Wednesday of each month at 10am!

From Shannon: "I am excited to introduce myself as the new facilitator for the memory care caregiver support group. I grew up in Jefferson City and attended First United Methodist Church, which has shaped my connection to our community. My personal journey with dementia began when my dad was diagnosed, and I witnessed my mom's resilience as she navigated the challenges of being his caregiver. This experience deeply inspired my passion for supporting others facing similar challenges.

In addition to my commitment to caregiver support, I run a private practice in mental health counseling. I believe my professional expertise, combined with my personal insights, will help create a safe and nurturing environment for caregivers to share, learn, and heal together. I look forward to meeting each of you and working together in this important journey."
