The Gathering offers a welcoming space where individuals with memory loss, caregivers, and volunteers share meaningful moments, build friendships, and find encouragement. Grounded in compassion and community, The Gathering aims to bring hope, joy, and renewal to everyone it touches.

Mission
To positively impact the lives of those with mild to moderate Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia and their caregivers by utilizing proven best practices for non-medical respite services, while offering meaningful opportunities for volunteers to make a positive impact in their community.
Vision
To provide joy, hope, dignity, and an improved quality of life to persons with dementia, along with their caregivers.
What to Expect
10 - 10:30 a.m. – Arrival, Socialization, Pet Therapy
10:30 – 11:00 a.m. – Brain Fitness (trivia, brainstorming, creative writing, etc.)
11 - 11:30 a.m. – Art or Music
11:30 - 11:50 a.m. – Physical Fitness (movement, stretching, chair exercises)
11:50 – 12:30 p.m. – Lunch & dessert
12:30 – 1 p.m. – Games
1 - 1:30 p.m. – Art or Music
1:30 - 2 p.m. – Guest speakers, presentations, monthly worship, service projects, and more
Participation Requirements
- Participants must be able to ambulate. The aid of a cane, walker or wheelchair is fine.
- Participants must be able to eat independently.
- Participants must be able to toilet independently. Absorbent briefs (such as Depends) are fine.
- Participants must be able to function cooperatively in a group.
- Participants require a diagnosis of dementia.
The Gathering is a ‘social model’ program. As such, participants enjoy activities created specifically to provide spiritual, physical, intellectual, and social stimulation. This program is not a daycare or a medical setting.
